WARDOGS RECOIL EXPLAINED
RECOIL VS SPREAD
Recoil is weapon movement. Spread is shot dispersion. They are not the same thing.
LESS RECOIL ≠ LESS SPREADWHY A WEAPON CAN FEEL HARD TO CONTROL
The cause may be vertical recoil, horizontal recoil, spread, or a combination. They affect your shots in different ways, so it helps to identify what you are noticing first.
These are clues to investigate, not guaranteed diagnoses.
RECOIL MOVES THE WEAPON
Recoil describes how the weapon moves after shots. Vertical recoil moves it up or down; horizontal recoil moves it side to side.
SPREAD MOVES THE SHOTS
Spread describes how shots disperse. It is not another name for recoil: recoil moves the weapon, while spread describes how shots spread apart.
PLAYER CONTROL AND THE VISUALIZATION
Mouse or controller input can compensate for some weapon movement. Spread should not be treated as something you can simply pull back into a tighter group in the same way. The Weapon Lab visualization compares weapon data; it does not recreate player control or predict exact impacts.
FIX THE ACTUAL PROBLEM
In Weapon Lab, compare the effects and ask what is actually limiting the weapon.
DO NOT OVERCORRECT
Giving up ADS speed, weight or another useful trait to chase recoil may leave the real spread issue untouched. The best balance depends on the weapon and the fight you want to take.
CONTROL THE RIGHT PROBLEM.
